For stuff not part of the current season.

I just watched Armitage III. I thought the first episode was pretty shit, it was overlong and everything that happened in it was pretty predictable. I'm glad I decided to watch the rest though, I enjoyed it more, but I'm still pretty confused about some of the details. I kinda wish they'd made all the episodes the same length and slowed things down a bit in the latter episodes instead of having the first episode twice as long.

I finally got done watching Planetes, and I have to say I think it was one of the best things I've seen in a while. I really like how it got into the ethical implications of space development and was still able to end in a way that left me feeling pretty good. The "everyone's connected" message might be a little cheesy, but personally I think it's a good message, and it was presented in a powerful way that was still realistic about where that idea fails. 10/10 would watch again.

On a side note, the show got me looking a lot more favorably towards terrorists and communism.

I couldn't get more than a few episodes through Planetes because I was infuriated by the MC being a stupid bleeding heart who repeatedly endangered the lives of her coworkers so she could harp on about how she doesn't want to do her fucking job because of her feelings. I've been watching Dai-Guard, and it's pretty damn good. The characters are all pretty likeable and Shirota creates an interesting dynamic with Akagi. It has pretty decent animation too.

The OP sucks though.

Well Active Raid ended up being awful, and BokuMachi shit itself with an anime original ending.

In the new season of FLCL, many years have passed since Naota and Haruhara Haruko shared their adventure together. I just got caught up on WataMote after leaving off around the start of the last school trip arc. The new recurring characters have changed it up a fair bit, which is nice because it was getting kind of stale beforehand. Chapter 91 was pretty amazing.

I thought episodes 2, 3, and 4 sucked, and was prepared to drop it, but then episode 5 and on has been great. The girls being defined by their one quirk is the big problem with those early episodes because that's exactly right, and they don't get any more interesting until the later episodes, which also makes the jokes more interesting as a result.

I'll disagree. It's definitely not run-of-the-mill. It really heavily leans on being laid-back and snarky. That's hardly normal for an ecchi harem. Even that aside, the roles are all over the place. The first thing about harems is that they usually have either an alpha MC, or a beta MC. Kazuma is … definitely not alpha. But he ain't beta either. He's the main drive of the plot. Actually, if Aqua and Kazuma were swapped, Aqua would make a perfect bland beta MC, with Kazuma being the typical main girl. But, instead of this, we get an Aqua-Kazuma dynamics that is pretty much "best bros", down to the sync between them. And Darkness, being the last to be introduced, managed to get some personality by the last episode too.

THIS WAS THE LAST EPISODE? GOD DAMN I DIDN'T EVEN KNOW ;_;
Though, as we are getting a second season, I shouldn't complain.
