I'm very happy with the amount of Yoshino in this adaptation.

Who's still watching?
I care far more about these two than the boring main pair.

10/10 explanation, I'm sad she decided it's bollocks immediately afterwards.

Jokes aside, it's nice to see her starting to perceive Natsuki as possible romantic partner. It'd be nice for her to now demonstrate a good social intelligence and sort these complicated feelings fast enough to confess to Natsu before he manages to confess to her. Probably Valentines Day, huh?

Wow, this girl's inner world is fucking boring.

That aside, I do appreciate they didn't even wait for Valentine's day for this. Still, I guess the real confession would be on 14.02. Second season when?

When I think about it, I have no idea what I ever enjoyed about this show, aside from Pig.

Why would you like the pig of all characters?
I liked the MC-heroine hijinks. Everything else was unnecessary.

She had the most erotic body and best voice.
She's also relatable as she hides her power level and is a poorfag.

In the new season of FLCL, many years have passed since Naota and Haruhara Haruko shared their adventure together. Meanwhile, the war between the two entities known as Medical Mechanica and Fraternity rages across the galaxy. Enter Hidomi, a young teenaged girl who believes there is nothing amazing to expect from her average life, until one day when a new teacher named Haruko arrives at her school. Soon enough, Medical Mechanica is attacking her town and Hidomi discovers a secret within her that could save everyone, a secret that only Haruko can unlock.

But why did Haruko return to Earth?
What happened to her Rickenbacker 4001 she left with Naota?
And where did the human-type robot ‘Canti’ go?

I'm not sure what you think I'm not getting here; of course everyone notices the art style changes. I was just pointing out that this time around I was able to recognise the animation director for this particular scene.

 No.15846

>>15844
They wanted you to recognize him. They wouldn't have invited him if he couldn't make the scene easily recognizable.

This is embarrassing, but I thought 'cookie-cutter' meant 'heartbreaking', 'creating division', or something like that. Turns out it means something like a repetition? Shouldn't have used that expression then.

I've played both Cross and Trigger. It's as you said, but it's also how they canonically made tragic consequences out of the events happening in Trigger, which some people didn't really take kindly. Some even went as far as saying that Cross was like fanfiction tier. Maybe you already know all of this, though.

 No.15850

>>15846
Yeah, of course. But I was only pointing out that I had recognised him this time, whereas the last time I watched FLCL around five years ago I had no idea who it was at all.

>>15848
Yeah, I'm very fond of Cross, and just about any discussion around it involves people who dislike it for shitting all over Trigger's happy ending.

>I'm curious at what you were thinking about when you used the term 'net gain'.
Like, if this new season has any redeeming value at all, then the world will be a better place because it exists.

>Also, the diminishing quality that you wrote afterwards.

Not diminishing quality. Diminishing self-completeness. FLCL season one was originally a complete story. Now there's going to be more stuff that happens after episode 6. That changes its meaning, how we think about it. It occurs to me now that this depends on how self-complete the new season is; it will be better for both of them if the second does not merely ride the coattails of the first.

>How does the board of directors usually decide to greenlight a project?

I have no idea.

The setting is interesting. But for an anime with connecting to others as a major plot point, I sure can't connect to the main cast.

Continuing to watch nonetheless.

This second episode was a mixed bag. Eiji's power doesn't seem quite as strong as it looked in the first episode, with him only giving Rin some specific commands to obey. And for some reason he could stop bullets by holding out his hand without giving an order later.
Eiji getting used as a puppet by the council is pretty lame, but I'm hoping from here the story will involve him trying to outwit and dominate them while working to take over Japan, so it still has promise.

The MC denies it because he says there's no meaning to having wishes fulfilled like that. And nothing is said to imply that the wisher would be left behind. Eiji changed his argument after he was told about the multiple universes.

Well this was a kind of crappy final episode, but the use of colour was great.
I think this could have been a pretty good show if it was two cours. As is it was just way too rushed, especially for the size of the cast.

I love how the Eiji's main argument against his dad's plan was that 'happiness is something that must be worked for' or whatever then just uses his power to grant his wish anyway.

>>15802
I dunno anon, no matter how many episodes you threw at this it wouldn't change the fact that the guy who writes this shit is an utterly talentless hack.
Still though, I enjoyed this far more than I should have at points.
