As I am catching up to the many series I got behind on this season, and considering the conversation from the old anime thread, as far as cute girls and non-yuri go, Hitoribocchi was pretty good. It got a bit repetitive for a couple of episodes, but then they continued with introducing new characters, which is good. This not only adds new jokes, but more context to the old ones which makes the more reusable. I really enjoyed it. It had some nicely executed more emotional moments too.
Also it is easy to take mane face screenshots.

The drama with Sotoka and her master/student autism was so goddamn stupid it made me want to drop the show. But I stuck with it for Aru.

I guess you can't relate to autismos. But even the other two girls were joking about it the whole time.

Nako best girl.

I'm kind of surprised that Rakita's parents didn't move to Japan with her. I know that that's what the plot demands, but realistically speaking they are probably with the same autism as her, and would probably drop everything to let her study for a ninja.

The new anime by Ikuhara. So far, so great. The gay kappa are better than the lesbo bears, for now. Too bad it is only 1 cour.

I'm guessing the whole detention sequence was just another metaphor for moving forward in life. It's possible that they didn't actually think about how he got there.
Overall despite its shortcomings I still really liked the show and thought its message was nice and authentic. Problems with people are inevitable but in the end, we still need to connect with others.
I guess I just really like Ikuhara. Hope he gets to do a longer series next time.

 No.27927

I really liked the "I want to connect, but…" idea behind the show too. I do like Ikuhara too, but in a way that I would like him to have the proper time to write the characters and the plot. I think there is a distinctive difference in quality/detail of characterization and story progression when we compare Sarazanmai and YuriKuma to Mawaru Penguin Drums.

I just want more Ikuhara.

This show made too much sense. Or maybe I'm not even aware of what I was supposed to understand.
Either way, this felt way different from what I remember of the other Ikuhara shows I watched. I didn't watch Utena yet.

Somehow Yui's brutal takedown of Koto cemented the dynamics between the trio and made this one of the most enjoyable group of lolis I've ever seen. Now I want to immediately rewatch the whole series. Except the 12th episode, it was weak.

I'll just go read the manga instead.

I liked the first episode but this one felt rushed as fuck. That aside, I noticed Kevin Penkin's name in the credits, which explains why the soundtrack is so good.

I have wanted to make a grand strategy game with you guys for like two years now, but I am a lazy piece of shit.
So we are doing minesweeper now. For now the rule is that the first person to post a reply with a new box to click one, I click. Whenever I am around to do that.

Rules:
1. No flags on my pictures.
2. Can't post your own pictures, but you can write down anything in a post.
3. You need to say "Press yx." in its own small sentence, for any reason, for me to official press it.
X is the horizontal from 1 to 30. Y is the vertical from A to P.

I guess I will just sacrifice the space. Is there any reason why something might have not start to download for over an hour now? Maybe I need to reach the 40GB again.
But you seem to be right, partially. Decided to try with the Gurazeni manga first. There are indeed many volumes that are higher than ~50mb (the usual size of 1200 pixel high manga volumes), not all. So far not even all volumes have shown, but maybe there is chance for more to show up eventually.

Downloads do take a little while to start, especially when you have a small unity folder. I remember hearing that they won't start at all below some specific size, but I don't know if it's true or not.
It is more of a "forget about it and check back on the morning" type of P2P like Ed2k instead of something with permanent seeding like BitTorrent.
It does take a considerable while to connect to all nodes after every startup too. It's best to keep it running instead of opening it whenever you feel like downloading something if you want the quickest results.

It's all smooth sailing once you manage to make Japanese a part of your daily routine. Maybe try to find things that aren't very taxing and that you can do every day? Listening to radio and following RSS feeds did the trick for me. Also, remember that keeping morale high is your top priority in the very early stages: avoid big cramming sessions and instead stick to an amount of study that you could realistically keep up; if the recommended material is boring, don't be afraid to dive into harder things that you find more interesting; don't lose sight of the reasons why you want to learn the language to begin with.

I couldn't take the last episode serious. All this crying, drama and now we are loving friends. With the lesbian pedo that tricked my adoptive father to live with us. It is okay when it is just stupid comedy, but when you try to make it all serious suddenly, it just doesn't fit with the rest of the show.

 No.26640

Aaaand the last episode and a little were the definition of "forced drama". They felt like they needed an excuse to clarify some things, so they went for the stupidest possible way. But what's even worse is how this clarification only makes the series worse, no matter the way it was given. We didn't know to hear how the pedo lost her eyesight or what Misha thought about her mother after all this time; the series had actually managed to show these without outright telling. Oh well. Guess they didn't have budget/time and went for the route that allowed them to reuse tons of animation.

 No.27590

I don't know what I just watched, but it was glorious. Definitely the best episode of the series. Somewhat like how Excel Saga's last episode was the best one.

All the specials are now out. And…. they were the best part of the whole show. Certainly the best scripts of individual episodes. Maybe because they didn't need to worry about the stupid overarching plot? I need at least 10 more such episodes. I'd be willing to wait a few months for each. But I guess the show does need some sort of overarching plot. I really hope it gets an S2.

That's exactly why I enjoyed the end so much. I did not expect it to be so good.

What's weirder is that Grimms Notes ALSO ended with an old god saving the day. All aroung "fuck you go play the game" end, but it was an enjoyable series overall.

I stopped minding Yuusha after a couple of episodes, actually. The problem with pink-haired protagonists is that they are too blunt and in-the-face in the narrative purpose that they fulfill. Yuusha didn't really fulfill any narrative purpose. Which I actually count as good and a subversion.

Also Princess didn't have enough screentime to dampen my overall enjoyment.

 No.27500

Decided to watch Endro, and it was about as good as I expected it to be.
I liked how they subverted the concepts of hero and demon lord but they didn't really do anything else interesting.
