>>26279>While only the violinist is JapaneseI was going to say we don't have hard rules about this, but then I realized the thread is called "Japanese music". That said I am sure some people have shared things that are maybe not Japanese in nature, yet no one has lost their heads over it. If it is something nice people will be open to it.
Also nice jazzy piece.

Another Japanese LP one-shot prog rock group, Shingetsu. All the songs on their eponymous album are good with pleasant acoustic guitar passages, bass flourishes, nice melodies, and very proficient singing. They're easily one of my favorite classic Japanese progressive rock outfits.
>>26280>Also nice jazzy piece. If you like it, I recommend the rest of their discography. It's nothing amazing, but it's all solid work, and they have some really beautiful moments. I also recently discovered they have a new album.

I got pointed to this thread a few days ago, which has a lot of great Vocaloid stuff.
https://rbt.asia/mu/thread/82484259/I'll particularly recommend Blue Ending Nova, and whoo's latest album is in there too, which was a nice find since I've been trying to find it for ages.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CIBK_pdsiYkAlso, dojin.co died at some point in the last few months. Anyone know what the deal was there, or if there's a replacement? That was a great site.

>>27192Awesome thread, I've been on a vocaloid nostalgia trip lately.
Dunno exactly what the deal with dojin.co was but I think that there were issues with whoever's in charge for yeras now.

>>27192People on DoujinStyle got sick of them stealing their rips and said that they'll stop uploading shit, some dude who's a mod on dojin.co then decided to just delete the entire site and made the front page redirect to the DS discord. The actual admin of the site then unfucked the whole thing but I have no idea why it's dead again now (probably for real this time too seeing as it's a 404).
Basically it's just another internet drama, but this time there's an important lesson to be learned in properly taking care of security.

>>27266Really hate this "Oh no, someone is "stealing" my piracy. Let me shut it all down, because none of you faggots deserve it!" mentality. It goes to show how much they care about the actual spreading of material when compared to their e-fame.

Am I to infer that prior to this incident that all mods had the ability to "delete" the website?
No.27359
>>27266Well that's a damn nuisance, I stopped using DoujinStyle half a decade ago because it's still just a shitty forum that makes finding anything a pain. Dojin.co's tagging system and previews made it a great resource.

Gentlemen, I beseech you to listen to this:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0a9z-iHKtbUIt's eight and a half minutes of excerpts from The Samurai of Prog's latest studio endeavor, "Toki no Kaze".
They're an international outfit, and they have used Japanese musicians in the past, but this newest album takes this further with the inclusion of songs sung in Japanese. In addition, the album is inspired by Miyazaki's shit.
The music itself can be described as beautiful, grand, and symphonic; the instruments used very much reflect this with the traditional rock ensemble of guitar, electric bass, drums, and keyboards paired with strings, reed, wind, and other classical orchestral instruments.
I wouldn't call this "Japanese music," but I would be remiss if I were to not share this ostensible magnum opus with you all.
Oh, and Alan Shikoh plays on this album. Only mentioning him because I loved his work with Glass Hammer.

Kikuo has a really weird style that actually goes really well with Miku.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hL75gQUcu0AThough the best songs are still the ones sung by Hana.

18if's adapation has some nice EDs:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1HXhblLSpOU*
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q5vcu-43j-0 (Listening to this before watching the episode it's played in might reduce both the song and the episode's impact. That episode is #7, by the way.)
I also encourage one to watch the show. Each episode has its own director, and the art greatly varies too. It's pretty fun but some of the stories are sad (in a good way).

Been a while, but Cinderella Search's first album (
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xdfGeWItT_g) is pleasant, synth-laden prog rock with beautiful violin work. If it weren't for the singer's enunciation issues, I wouldn't think this were a Japanese band. There's even a bluegrass-country interlude in the second track–odd but enjoyable. Worst thing I can say is that they're best when they don't rock too much, and unfortunately, the longest track, "Voice From The Universe/Dulce Warning", does just that (but it's still decent track), and that maybe the lyrics should have been sung in Japanese.
Regardless, absolutely worth a listen if you enjoy pastoral neo-progressive rock and/or violin in your rock music.
