Quick drop time, I guess
>discount Tenpuru
It kinda irked me how in the end they did find the tie due to a miracle rather than hard work and guts. The guy getting his way against the gods just by being a true Nonoriri would have been an okay attention hook, I guess, but we didn't get that. Alas, I'd rather just rewatch Tenpuru.
>discount lvl99 villainess
That was veeeeery basic. Seems like the guy took zero risks when writing it.
>discount Ningen Fushin
One more very basic series. We are deep into them adapting the middling gamesekai titles.
>childhood friend guild master
This one had more spirit. I guess I will give it at least a couple more episodes.
>what if my patron saint was an M instead of an S
I didn't expect much but I liked it a lot. I might be comparing it to Utena, but actually I don't have much of an idea what the bread and butter of this series will be after the introductory arc. Let's see if it will manage to stay entertaining.
No.37087
Tsuma, Shougakusei ni Naru is an awful adaptation. 11 chapters in two episodes. They skip a lot, change stuff. For anyone interesting read the manga. It is finished. With this tempo, they are trying to do all 111 chapters in 12 episodes, I would guess.
No.37088
Chi.: Chikyuu no Undou ni Tsuite starts like Reddit the anime, but the main character is mostly redeemed by the end of the second episode.
Even so, the interactions between the scientists and the inquisitor/s are probably gonna be a lot more anime than it was in real life. Think in general you had to be vocal about more than just heliocentrism to get burned. Then again heliocentrism is only more correct than geocentrism, though I am sure the anime will get to further updates, maybe even more than what was historically done.
No.37090

No.37094
>>37091>>37091>I had a similar impression, but unlike you, I didn't follow through on watching it. Nice to know it's not as bad as I expected from reading the synopsis. There is always a chance for my good will to disappear after later episodes, but let's put it this way - the guy that gets burned for his heliocentric believes (though as far as I know that has never actually happened), believes in God himself and he just wants to see the true beauty of the world he created. The pastor, the MC's adoptive father, is implied to be an astronomy nerd in disguise. Even the Inquisitor is given more grayish implications about him, though I still bet the guy that hired him and that branch of the church at least will be portrayed mostly as cartoonishly evil, though I could be wrong.
>A damn shame.Made me realize the manga is fully translated now so I just finished that. Overall great stuff, though, arguably the last arc when for a bit too long. There is one weird thing about the ending, but honestly it would have been weird otherwise. Though they could have done an a bit different solution to that problem.

>>37087>>37090Finally got around to watching Best Mom. I am honestly fine with this pacing too. I read the manga a while back so I guess it's an okay sign if they are adapting everything I remember from it and nothing that I don't remember?
That aside, some more catching up with gamesekais:
>relics user bullshitter ep3I bet it's a light novel adaptation and next episode will adapt the end of the first volume. Let's see if it will be good or not.
>lamia ep2The lamia continues to be cute.
>healer ep2I kinda don't care at all about what seems will be the overarching plot, and the main two don't flirt enough. Dunno if I will be watching it. Esp considering I want to drop at least some of these gamesekais.

I love it when an anime turns a showcase of club activities into a parade of whacky sports from around the globe. We of course know kabaddi, and I'm pretty sure I'd heard of pesäpallo and sepak takraw in anime before, but kin-ball caught me. We really do live in the Pissing-about Age, as a wise man once said.
Besides this, I'm rather liking this anime. Quite possibly my most solid pick so far. The story's rather shallow, but the fairytale visuals really keep you from expecting anything else. It's well balanced and quite enjoyable.

Maou 2099 is kind of a wasted opportunity. The main point of interest is the world, however they put the MC in a job where he just stays inside all day. The maou of course just wants "world peace", which is boring. The conversations tend to overexplain stuff, the series would have been better served by just cutting some of them short and putting more establishing shots with literally nothing happening. Just… the writing isn't very good overall. Oh well. Not completely sure if I will continue watching it.

It strikes me that I haven't shilled Mahoutsukai ni Narenakatta nearly half as hard as it deserves.
I already liked it at ep. 1, but ep. 2 really sealed the deal for me with this quote of Harold Abelson from the SICP lectures. If the teacher had gone off to write NOTEBOOK SCIENCE on the blackboard and then cross off each word, I'd've found it perfectly natural.
And yes, she does say this in Japanese, and no, it's not a coincidence because the Japanese word 幾何学 does not in fact contain any reference to earth or land. And it fits the show's theme, in which mainstream magic education only teaches students how to use an advanced piece of technology without understanding it, whereas an outlier wizard teaches her pupils how to understand and master magic from its very foundations.
A not-so-subtle message about technology in current society, peeking from behind a cast of endearingly cliched characters and a plot out of a weekend morning cartoon, all wrapped in pastel visuals that have no business being this prominent or this pretty. Stop acting like a blonde tsundere ojousama and embrace the magic, Anon.

>>37088>>37090Seems like I was more correct than I was given myself credit for. Though I haven't been watching it, I took a peak at episode 60. They are already at chapter 48 from 111. Though it won't be easy, I bet they will ignore as many side plots and main plots as possible and get to the ending somehow.

No.37217
>>37216Coworker and boyfriend are there, but do not get much focus, just the more major plot points. And yeah, of course the slower buildup is gone. But really, the only aspect that has been completely axed is the elementary school stuff. I am generally happy with the choices made, really, the adaptation gets the core appeal of the source material. I would have been happier with, let's say, twice the length, but nevertheless script flows really well.
Then again, I should finish reading the manga anyway. I don't even know if the elementary school stuff ever plays any major role; when I was reading it as an ongoing series I was already feeling like cutting that part wouldn't be much of a loss.
