I guess Dark Gathering is the most exciting of the lineup. Honestly, I just can't wait anymore for Her Imperial Majesty's anime. Why can't it be autumn already?
No.34944
Synduality seems to be one of those anime that will either be good or terrible, no in-between.
>>34943>Why can't it be autumn already? Please no. Time already marches onward much too fast.

Yohane's spinoff had a preair. It wasn't good, of course - it was wicked and evil, as befits the dark deeds of a fallen angel. It'd be the season's highlight for me even on a good one; airing this summer, there isn't even a contest. And it features a fictional, complete Japanese syllabary that's clever and dumb in exactly the right proportion, as if a chuuni Tolkien wannabe had come up with it! Are other high fantasy school idol spinoff anime even trying?
>>34944>Synduality seems to be one of those anime that will either be good or terrible, no in-between.Its chief staff members have a pretty good track record, all in genres entirely different to this one. So I agree, there's no room for it to turn out so-so. By the way, did you know that Flying Witch aired over seven years ago?

I watched only one show last season and it was a continuation from the previous. Several series I haven't finished since then too. I would like to try watch a bit more this season.

>Yumemiru DanshiThat was kind of a mess: it didn't manage to have a serious story, but it also didn't manage to be a glorious trainwreck ala OreSuki. I still kinda want to watch the second episode tho, so I guess it wasn't that bad.
>Okashi na Tenseithe oneesan isekai has severely skewed my expectations of the genre and now only Mushoku clears the hurdle this season
>Lv1 MaouWhat the fuck is this design? It's like the main character of an American cartoon. However I actually like the voice acting…

>>35033I was so pissed that I forgot to complain here.
The third episode just made everything I mentioned even worse. What's more, people decided to tell me that in the source material she's supposedly fighting the constant urges of the original villainess to be cruel. But we don't see even a hint of that. Not even in the scene where she massacres a whole company. What the fuck, really. If these people were thinking what they said would make me stick with the anime, they were in fact 100% wrong. A character that fights the urges to be cruel sounds 1000x times more interesting than what we have and now I am disappointed even more.
Have a loli to soothe your heart as an apology for my complaining.

Harvest was so poor this season that I've been scouring the fields a second time in search of produce I may have overlooked the first. But not much has come up this time either - I'm giving Shiro Seijo a second chance, and checking out Liar Liar, which is amusing but not as skilfully made as it should.
>>34981I watched S1 of Mononogatari and it was fine, but I didn't quite like it enough to go for another round. So if you find discussion has quieted down since, well, maybe that's that.
>>35012Dark Gathering is good at what it wants to be, which is a kind of anime that I want to have nothing to do with, unfortunately. Ditto for Murder Farce. I just… Yeah, I'd rather be watching 90's OVAs instead.
>>35011>>35180Tried the cat thing. The OL is nice, but the cat is entirely uninteresting, and the way the narration makes a big deal of the dullest and most obvious developments hurts it further. I'll wait for the redux version that consists entirely of the OL skipping around in her extremely erotic heyagi.
Another thing about the cat anime, and the eyewear_removed anime: their opening scenes are basically identical. This has destroyed any faith I may've had in Go Hands. It's great for anime to get visually playful, but that should be done in ways that fit the source material or at least are original and stand out. The way I figure it, what Go Hands is doing is showing off their animation skills without any particular regard to the story they're adapting.

No.35202
>>35199That does not invalidate my point. In fact, we're pretty much in agreement, you see:
>The opening scene of the first episode asideThis is what I'm talking about. They made their adaptation, however much or little care they put into it (I agree that the hair one does show interest), and then they slapped their demo reel to the front of it. Not cool. If you want to show off, do so in a way that befits the source material - say, instead of a commuting scene, drop in a scene about the girl getting ready in the morning.
No.35204
>>35202But the first scene is just a short bullshit, overall they do show understanding of the material. You're putting way too much importance on that one scene.

No.35297
The tiny senpai shit managed to brutally squash the spine of the main guy one episode, then pretended nothing happened the next. This was frankly amazingly bad, I wonder if they are literally swapping around chapters from the source material. It's still a funny time-waster of an anime but I didn't expect it to play it off that bad.
No.35327
Amazingly, Jitsu wa Ore, Saikyou deshita will end in the middle of nothing. He won't get kicked out of the school, he won't destroy the secret villain organization, he won't learn the identity of the Mao, nothing. Will just end mid arc, if this is even an arc. 15-20 years ago half of the anime might have been original stuff, but it would have had some ending. Now we have such by the book adaptations, that they just gave up on having even a single satisfying arc in this one, but perhaps it just doesn't really have any arcs to speak of so far in the story. I don't even know what to think.
