I have only been watching the ongoing series since I started, meaning Hugtto, Star and now Healin. Though I have been stuck at around episode 7 on Healin. It is okay, but also not really. The series just never feels properly thought through and then ends up being very aimless and eventually ends. I am guessing this is why people like Heartcatch, not that I have seen it. Other than being a more edgy season, it is probably also better structured.

Star is all sorts of bad. Elena and Lala are the only two decent characters. And the choreography is just bad. I know not everyone can be Nagisa and Honoka but still.
Well, I'll finish it anyway.

I'm only acquainted with Futari and Splash Star because people used to stream those in the past but they were fun, definitely more alluring than some stuff from new PreCures I've seen randomly.
Or maybe I'm biased because I love Honoka's design and eyebrows? She and Mai were and still are pure sex after all, with Saki as a bonus because she has those thick and nice eyebrows too.

I have to amend
>>30722 a little. The first fourteen episodes do practically nothing with the plot or the characters. It's the arc for the fifth precure that starts introducing more elements to each character and to show actual good writing and good animation.
Why?
I have no idea. But I honestly think you can skip the first fourteen episodes with next to zero loss.
>>30765It's not just you. Honoka and Nagisa continue to be the best precures.

>>31054Honestly, what a difference between the first cour and the last few episodes. About half of the show was with an obviously lower quality of scriptwriting. Episodes full of setups for great ideas that get completely glossed over… and some of the characters definitely got the shorter end of the stick in terms of screentime for their development (cough, Madoka, cough).
But then the other half of the show executed all of these things perfectly.
Take Elena's Twinkle Imagination arc for example. I managed to call most of what's going to happen in it just because it was what NEEDED to happen in Elena's character arc. But they also tied in the previous Elena + tengu ep, and made Elena go all Key-kun. So when they get good scenario writers and give two episodes for the arc, it's just perfect, tying up the logical progression in the best way possible. Even down to the fine details! I called that her little brother will start taking on the cooking while I was still watching Madoka's arc!
Madoka on the other hand was really interesting… but just didn't get enough time and attention to detail. It is pretty strongly implied in several of the good episodes what a nerd she is. But then it's soon forgotten in the bad episodes. And she got only one episode for her Twinkle Imagination.

>>31687No, wondering if I should. I only have seen Hugtto and Star Twinkle. Dropped Healin Good early, when they stopped showing new episodes.
I think seasons can often have a lot of potential and even some interesting moments, but overall it is stuck having horrible writing and not good enough development of the characters, nor the world. Would maybe just prefer to go back to watching Aikatsu again instead.

Where do i start
No.31737
>>31736Either the beginning or just grab some random series where you like the designs.

>>36970Although I only really got into this with Hero Girl, I took a peek of Tropical Rouge and Delicious Party and would agree with you. But I don't think, if that's what you're suggesting, that Wonderful deserves to be written off. I think it's playing its strengths well.
To name an example, coming from the broader mahou shoujo world, the idea of hugging monsters of the week rather than blasting them into ether struck me as odd at first. Yet I subconsciously grew to accept it, to the point that, when the cat showed up and started beating up the poor garugaru, I was genuinely horrified. My point being that it has managed to find a niche that it fills well.

>>37208Wait, what do you even like about Healing or Delicious Party? I will not go into the amazing lack of taste if you do not love Tropical Rouge, but I just can't even imagine liking anything at all about these two.
I am midway with Hero Girl, the overarching plot is weak but the episodic stories are pretty nice. And none of the girls have high heels, which is a first since Cure White and Cure Black. Hope they have finally learned their lesson and Wonderful is the same.
