Why empires are always so evil?
Pic related is not "The Empire".

If their rulers weren't evil, they'd be more concerned with restraining their successors than amassing more power.

The events I expected happened, but not in the way I expected them to happen.

I was expecting rather different events to transpire.

I'm loving this: the suffering, the war, most of the characters, and Yuki-sama of course. I hope we get more war politics. There's iffy art and animation, but every god damn second I'm engrossed.
You know what else is fucking awesome? The violin in the OP. The song is fairly standard, but that violin is so good that I never get tired of listening.

I don't love it, but I enjoy it too. Though maybe I am just waiting for the mecha war games to really begin. All episode I was just waiting for the princess to send the new mechas in battle and say "If more people are going to die, because I have send them to fight, then I am going to make sure their deaths weren't in vain by leading us to victory!" or "From now on, everyone that dies, dies under my command." or some shit and start commanding the front line.
Also this is not 4chan so you can make your webms a bit better. But then again 1080p was maybe overkill anyway.

I'd imagine next episode is when things really start becoming dire and she'll have to change.

>Also this is not 4chan so you can make your webms a bit better. But then again 1080p was maybe overkill anyway.

I don't make many webms, so I forgot about my shit default settings, and didn't think about the output like an idiot.

I was expecting them to make her actually give an order rather than just request them to listen to her. It's odd in general, the first two episodes made it seem like Yuuki didn't really have any power at all, but now everyone is listening to her and things don't seem anywhere near as dystopian for Soleil as I'd initially thought.

She is the queen and there was nothing dystopian. No idea where you got all of that.
Though technically her secretary for some reason seems to hold more power, even if she is loyal. It will be interesting to see what she will choose to do once she realizes her real child is alive.
That said they never presented a regent, which the secretary seems to be, which is unreasonable, or some council or anything. Society was just moving forward regardless of the lack of a ruler. As the girl knight from the first episode said they really don't need a monarch, but she is a cute idol girl, so fuck it, we will continue having a monarch. You would think the little princess would be the perfect marionette, but such a thing just didn't occur. Everyone is loyal to a fault.

The epitome of Soleil's enlightenment.

 No.27021

>>26961
Soleil is closer to utopian than dystopian. It's natural that she didn't appear to have power: the first episode started with her 12th birthday, and Yuki was informed she'd have to start attending parliament. The advisors had to run everything during her childhood, and they were too slow to realize that time was ending. The fiasco at the border was what woke everyone up.

Now the advisors know they screwed up and hiding things from Yuki creates an opportunity for some rival to accuse them of treason.

A mature, badass Yuki could've seized real power at any time due to the absence of a strong, ambitious chancellor, (even Layla really just wants to be a mommy) but due to that same absence, the gaggle of lackeys they have there can't do much more than rely on teamwork. They know it, too.

This show has taught me to smile like a psychopath while at work–just like Stella-nee. I hope I can be as cute and macabre as her too.

This is exactly the sort of character I wanted Yuuki to not become.
