Where does you sentence start? Where does it end?
No.22367

I'm glad I woke up late. The only issue I've had thus far is the threads not loading whenever I open them in a new tab.
I'm not surprised Hiro did this.
No.22371
>>22370Yep, I won't be renewing my pass. He fucked up the site so hard multiple times, I just won't use it anymore. He can have fun with all the 2016 cancer on his own.
No.22372
>>22371>He can have fun with all the 2016 cancer on his own.Sadly, the cancer is the profitable part.
No.22373
>>22372Is it really though? In terms of ads, maybe, but not the kind of ads that ran on 4chan before (J-List). When it comes to passes, I doubt it.
No.22374
>>223712016 was horrible for 4chan. I say that as someone who sadly didn't start posting there until quite late in the game (2010ish). Quality declined dramatically in the past year, ESPECIALLY on /a/.
No.22376
>>22373I'm talking out of my ass, but I assume that greater traffic would generally generate more money, whether that would be from ads or passes. And if hiro keeps up his scummy ways, then I'd also imagine passes will grant more or better privileges. (That and shittier ads and tactics to obviate adblocking.)
Tangentially related, I wouldn't trust hiro with my card details. I hope people are paying via bitcoin.
>>22374It wasn't just 4chan: online communities in general suffered.

>>22376>I'm talking out of my ass, but I assume that greater traffic would generally generate more money, whether that would be from ads or passes. And if hiro keeps up his scummy ways, then I'd also imagine passes will grant more or better privileges. (That and shittier ads and tactics to obviate adblocking.)Depends on the ad deals. 4chan has never made much from ads despite large traffic, because moot didn't want scum advertisers and non-scum advertisers didn't want 4chan.
If advertisers don't feel like the impressions are worth their money, they generally either try to have a deal that only charges them for clicks on the ads, or fuck off altogether.
>Tangentially related, I wouldn't trust hiro with my card details. I hope people are paying via bitcoin.Payment processing is done by Stripe, at no point during the transaction could 4chan even access the CC details.
Bitcoin is a shitty meme, nobody is going to pay $20 transaction fees on a $20 transaction
No.22379
>>22377>because moot didn't want scum advertisers and non-scum advertisers didn't want 4chan.That's the thing: moot is gone, and hiro has shown he has no problem with executing machinations as long as it makes money.
>Payment processing is done by Stripe, at no point during the transaction could 4chan even access the CC details. That's good to hear.
>Bitcoin is a shitty meme, nobody is going to pay $20 transaction fees on a $20 transactionThe fees weren't always that big, but yeah, if you're going to use a cryptocurrency for these kind of transactions, then bitcoin would be dumb.

>>22386It's still immensely better than /g/, which is basically /pol/ + /v/ + /wsr/ these days.
But, it's as you say: English imageboard culture is a lost cause; besides a few places that are nearly dead.
No.22388
>>22387/g/ died when the only mod who cared, Uriel, died. Everything that it was and split off is /pol/ or /jp/ shitposting.

No.22390
>>22389this can be said of most 4chan boards.
Sadly, the natural way of things appears that some people with an agenda will take over a board and shitpost to drive everyone else off, turning the board into a parody of its former self.
No.22392
Also side note to the OP, check out samachan! We're fun too!
>>22390>>22387I mean that's why we're here aren't we? Because we either don't want to deal with what /a/ has become, or we feel like spending some time on a comfier, less corrupted imageboard.

No.22418
>>22390Is there a deliberate agenda? It looks to me like it's just a horde of normalfags who have one thing on their mind: shitposts and memes. They don't care about the community nor the hobbies the board is dedicated to. I frequently see posts from these miscreants stating that they only see 4chan and other imageboards as a place to shitpost, and while this isn't a new opinion, I also see less people refuting it.
>>22392>check out samachan! We're fun too!I know you're been occasionally posting this on /a/; one day I will, anon.
No.22465
>>22418>Is there a deliberate agenda?I don't think so.
Like you said it's just a horde of normalfags.
Internet culture is also centralizing. There are less & less differences between the user base of Reddit, 4chan, YT, Facebook, etc.
No.22483
>>22418>I know you're been occasionally posting this on /a/; one day I will, anon.I-I just enjoy both sites, and want both of them to be fun and lively.
No.22525
>>22418There is an agenda, yes.
Anonymous internet culture is less controllable. The drive for real names on social media sites is known to all of us.
How much this agenda plays a role on 4chan however, I cannot say.
>>22360I intend to make on last post on 4chan/a/ tomorrow to say goodbye.
These past few months were a shit ride, and this week is the perfect climax for me to decide that it's enough. It still feels like losing an old lover, but I don't think it's reasonable to hope for things to return to what they once were.
