This reminds me more of the original iM@S than Cinderella Girls, which I didn't even finish watching. So far it seems to be fun, but 17 boys might be just a few too many.

 No.20840

I just saw the prologue and while it didn't impress me terribly, I do love me some male idols, and the animation seems to be very good.

I think I just miss UtaPri before it went full CG.

 No.20865

Just keep watching. Since SideM anime is handled by two directors now and they promised that the anime will be a balance on TANOSHII and DRAMA (expect Doctor Chihaya's arc soon)

17 boys divided into smaller units, even then, is a bit too much. (even so, fans want all 46 idols in the anime, it's good they went with this route while thinking of the new fans)

>>20840
The prologue is more like a continuation (side story actually) from the 765 im@s anime (movie specifically), I can understand non-fans getting a bit confused with it.

I just watched the first episode and enjoyed it. It's seriously nice to see some male idolshit with a decent budget. Also, 28 year old idol dude is super moe to me, which goes to show I'm growing old.

Excellent. I am watching a few of those this season. Like Tsukipro! Which sucks.

I don't even remember Tsukiuta despite the fact that I know I watched it all. So why am I watching this boring-ass show? Goddamnit.

Right. Tsukiuta is the one where the girl idols are literal moon people aiming to become godesses by becoming idols.

I may not remember the rest of the show, but I do remember the feeling of "What the fuck" of that whole episode. Here's hoping Tsukipro does something similar because it is an honestly fucking boring show.

Tsikipro may be boring, but my God, Dyanmic Chord was just bad. Like, it honestly made me appreciate Tsukipro in both writing and animation. This shit was just painful to watch.

Reminder that Shounen Hollywood is the best idol anime and actually a good anime overall. The characters are actually very well done male teenagers that feel, think, experience a lot. The anime has both uniquely done episodes and an always creeping around existential thematic, without getting into annoying drama, because the characters are actually try to grow as people.
The only problem is some of the first introduction episodes. After that is full of wonders.

I haven't seen it yet, but my personal favorite are the two first seasons of UtaPri. I can't speak about character growth in any significant way beyond "Otoya stops being such an asshole", but other than that they are just plain fun. It honestly had me laughing all the way, and despite the fact that the final song was used EVERY EPISODE, when the final episode came, I still felt like one of the show's fans, cheering for the rainbow fuckers. Animation was great, too.

Seaons 3 and 4 are a disgrace because they forgot exchanged the fun for DRAMA, which felt hella out of place in a show where one of the idols used to be a literal cat, and the rival band invoked a dragon on stage to murder their audience. Nevermind Nanami, who seems to have had less than fifty lines between the last two seasons.

Though UtaPri being idolshit + otomeshit, it probably doesn't count.

That was one of the worst OPs I've ever seen. And the animation in the band sequences was atrocious.

I'm excited about the new WuG. For some reason I've grown fond of these girls whom I can barely remember from one instance to the next.

It's a really interesting experiment, too - it is well known that the main problem with Yamakan's projects is Yamakan himself, so in theory things should only get better if you remove him. So far, results fail to confirm this theory.

The new character designs don't even bother me much, at least I can still tell who's who (that's something I couldn't say about Gunslinger Girl). The 2000's animation, complete with 2000's QUALITY, does bother me a bit. The weird CG models, with those extremely thin arms, bother me too. But my main problem is that they seem to be writing it as a 2000's harem anime with the manager as the spineless, dumb MC and the president as the abusive, irrational, pushy main love interest. Just what obscure studio politics gave birth to this project?

I don't feel like the new designs have done anything to help that at all. It just looks even worse than it did last time, especially with those horrific side profile shots.
>But my main problem is that they seem to be writing it as a 2000's harem anime with the manager as the spineless, dumb MC and the president as the abusive, irrational, pushy main love interest.

So, back to WuG. Two years ago they were the country's top idol group, and it is only now that they're thinking of developing unique characters as a selling point. With Minyami in particular, her struggle to find something to say about food beyond "unme~nya" is exactly the same conflict that she solved by developing that catchphrase to begin with, so she's actually undergone negative character growth since season 1.

This production committee is a disaster. It feels like there's a faction that wanted to write an original idol anime, and a faction that wanted to put out a WuG sequel, and someone forced them to work together even though they refuse to cooperate or compromise. And so the characters are out of character and the developments contradict the setting itself.

Gotta love this part where the president just gets up and leaves in the middle of explaining some idol 101 stuff that she had somehow neglected to explain for what, three and a half years?

 No.21354

>>21349
It is because they cut off Yamakan. It is a restart that pretends it is not. The whole thing of them not being your generic idol group is pretty much throw out as well. This season the focus is obviously a lot more on "I am so kawaii" than it ever was for the first. Their problems have degraded to being the absolute same ones most idols have.
Don't forget it is a commercial for the real idol group. That's why they probably have left the time flow to progress with ours, which doesn't work with the character and plot regression.
If you want something more unique from an idol anime I am going to remind again about Shounen Hollywood.

Also, I know Pierre from a bunch of porn. In those he's always with a couple other Idols around his age. Who and where are those guys in this show?

From which episode are they even from?
But they are probably from the mobile game. There are a lot of characters from there that didn't go into the anime. And I definitely don't think there were male idols other than Jupiter in the first series.

You will have to define better.
It has less from the badly animated song parts, but it is pretty much the same thing. But then again I didn't pay too much attention when watching episode 1, so I am basing this "the same" more on episode 2, which I quite enjoyed for the chasing of the reporter.
It is noting great, but I find it to have this weird, yet somehow appealing atmosphere about it. The action is kind of slow and lethargic and so are the characters.

 No.21660

I mean the badly animated concert part. It was really, really bad in the first ep.

Can't say the lethargic atmosphere is my cup of tea, so I guess I'll continue not watching this show. I have recetnly found out that while I'm all about male idols, I am very specifically about fun, happy male idols. For all that I enjoyes Tsukiuta, Tsukipro is just boring. Every episode feels like a small eternity.

But I'm glad you are enjoying it.

This dude makes me so happy.

The whole episode did, really. Seeing the Lawyer and the prince getting pumped together,, the stupid suits the ossan idols worse, their cheerful song. All of that was a joy to watch.

These out-of-shape, middle-aged idols are wonderful.

These twins are so sexy. Their energetic and playful personalities are suggestive of how they would fare in bed. Their sidetails subtly ask to be pulled in doggy style. Their slim bodies are naturally fit for maximized performance. Their age of 13 is fairly young - not loli young, but the youngest a sexually fertile female can be -. And as if yuri, threesomes and incest were not good enough by themselves, the picture of fucking the tokachis automatically fullfills these three sexual fetishes, all at the same time. For all of these reasons, I feel really attracted to them. Too bad their songs and VAs are not equally amazing.
