I doubt it. There's the stuff with the egg in the ending, but the word they usually use for that phrase is egg, not hina/hiyoko (egg of a <something>, not hiyoko of a <something>). Girl's Day is a much more obvious association.

Or maybe I'm just biased, considering I'm currently fapping to an Ikuto x Amu doujin.

I'm not convinced this is yuri, but it sure is love. And I pretty much draw this conclusion by how Anna is cut off halfways. Weird me.
While lots of the framing is done in a run-of-the-mill way, this show is also quite rich on scenes that betray a little more artistic talent through small details like the framing being a little off, or the cost-saving being more artist-y. Maybe that's why it reminds me of Shaft.

But, damn, the whole crow part was really forced. Obviously the execs said some of the plot should be cut off to make place for two transformation sequences.

Also, this episode alone showed more chemistry and a better relationship than most romance series (anime or not) I've ever seen. Hope they fix all the QUALITY for bd.

This episode was all sorts of frustrating. It was as if they drew outright yuri, then somebody told them to censor it, and they just cut out the obviously yuri parts. That would explain all the QUALITY in the episode.

I'll miss this anime.

Maybe it is just me, but I never saw Nina and Leon to have that many interactions in the first half of the series. If anything it felt as if Leon had a lot more with the other characters. Maybe I was just not paying enough attention, or it is the fact Leon's attention completely shifted to Nina in the last 4 episodes, but it felt it as being forced and overly exaggerated.
Also reminder that hina = a chicken.

I wouldn't say Leon had a lot more with the other characters. Moreso, it felt like Mahiro had more screentime than both Nina and Leon. So if the anime wanted to tell the Nina x Leon love story, it did fail in the first half. Then, if that was not it, fuck, WHAT did this anime want to do? I'm not sure. It wasn't the story of Leon growing up, cause the training she was doing was mostly offscreen. It wasn't the story of Nina changing her outlook, cause that was mostly the result of getting wet for Leon, and that didn't have enough focus for like two thirds of the anime. It wasn't even about Mahiro's ambitions, because the end of the anime forgot about them and didn't bring anything conclusive on that front. And it certainly wasn't something generic about "friends friends", considering how it went into obvious-but-obscured yuri.

But I enjoyed the mess, so it's okay.
