I don't understand what was the point on the girls getting together to make their own theatre society to just have the school club be revived the next episode and it completely took over the anime.

I think this is probably the most fanservice I've seen in a SoL show. That aside, it bothers me that everyone is head over heels for the boring landlady girl, mostly because it's been 5 episodes already and we still haven't seen a single bit of her supposed incredible acting ability.
