With that thoughtful argument I started watching seems a little generic but first episode was pretty good. Picked up.

I was actually thinking about making a thread. The first few episodes make it look like a very generic low level fantasy, but it actually gets a lot more entertaining with time. They don't fight often and the fights are not that detailed anyway. It is a weird anime in a sense, because it is more about the characters, character growth (mostly just one, two at best) and eventually it start introducing some interesting ideas and themes. The writing is not exactly good, but it is by no means bad either. It feels like something a teenager with a good future in writing, but still in training, might write. The quality of writing and animation might not be the best, but it is just very charming.

I believe the loli joins the party around episode 6 or 7.

Too early to tell which ones will be the best. I can say that the following shows either have no chance or are a big longshot.

If I was up to date with it and not just stuck like 8 episodes behind I'd probably say ReZero.
I hope Illya is good, but I'm also not watching it for some reason.
In fact, the most enjoyable shows that I actually am watching this season are probably Scared Rider Xechs or Amanchu.

That was one of the strange things about Endride, that it wasn't the Japanese boy that was learning about the big world, but the fantasy prince. Yes he did change. It was a little too sudden and not properly build up to it, but in the second cour he is a different man.

Illya wasnt really good, hope they will get more budget for their next Illya project.

Gave highest scores this season to Re: Zero and Amanchu. The Show By Rock shorts were up there too. Qualidea gets honorable mention.

Admittedly, I still have to try like half of the season, but it's unlikely anything will be above 7/10.

I liked Amanchu and Mob Psycho the most.

Konobi and Saiki Kusuo were pretty cool too.

Rest of the season felt pretty bland, specially New Game which I expected to be my AOTS.

New Game wasn't really good, it was just passably amusing (not funny) at times, which was disappointing.
