I am finding myself highly uninterested in anime right before the new season. It is weird because overall spring was a season I enjoyed a lot. I don't know if enjoying anime has burned me out or actually just makes me that much more sceptical about the next season.
No.15890
>>15889I was like that at the beginning of Spring. I actually started the Spring shows around May.
Anyway, I guess I will just try everything as usual, I don't feel the hype to actually choose right now. But more Show By Rock is always welcome.

I'm a little annoyed the new Illya is starting so soon, I've not even had time to read the manga yet.
Binan Koukou is a pleasant surprise, I didn't expect to see more of that.
Also time to marathon Arslan Senki I guess. I was holding out for better subs but I guess it ain't happening .
No.15894
On one hand, Rewrite being an original story means we won't have to watch 8bit make a horribly rushed adaptation of the other routes, but on the other, what story do they even have to tell now?
Esaka route?>>15893I don't recall Funi being particularly bad for Arslan. The bigger problem was all the QUALITY.
Not sure how much I expect of S2 either given that S1 brought
magic shit into the second half.

Thinking of skipping this season so I have more time to focus on self-improvement. I might pick up Planetarian though for the sake of the old times.

I quite liked Deys and Fukigen. Shame the critters in Fukigen were CG, but at least as CG goes it wasn't too obtrusive.
Orange had a pretty intresting first episode too, but I'm not convinced that it's going to end up being anything but shitty relationship drama.
>>15909Yeah, that suprised me too. Maybe they can suprise me again and come up with something more interesting for next episode. Chinpo alone can't carry a show.
No.15915
Sunshine was about as awful as I expected. Wouldn't have been half as bad if they didn't keep bringing up u's and reminding us that they've been replaced with this new joke of a cast.
>>15914I was liking the first half of Orange but then the second half suddenly felt rushed as shit, and Kaho falling for whatshisname then felt really melodramatic because of it. I know it's shoujo and all, but still.

About Alderamin, this was obviously a set up with the characters. As far as I can tell from the tittle of the next episode their situation will be resolved and he will get a medal and probably get assigned to lead an army division and continue on climbing the leader without really wanting to. Though this combination of pseudo technology and magic is questionable for a proper war scenario.

>>15934It's based on a Manhua apparently, seems like the director is a chink too, shame I haven't been able to find a list of the rest of the staff, I'd be interested to know what to what extent it's a chinese production.
Still, I thought it was pretty good aside from the fact I can't tell my Zhangs from my Fengs for the life of me. It managed to get the balance of humor and serious stuff just about right for the most part.
I think Qualidea Code is a pretty strong contender for the least likable cast of the season.

God damn it. Japan doesn't need foreigners making their own cartoons on the anime market, Japan just needs them as slave animators.

Ange Vierge sure had a lot of nudity. The BDs might be cool, but the episode itself was pretty bad.
Orange's second episode was quite nice, though still pretty melodramatic. I really like the BGM though.
91 Days was mostly good, though I expect there to be a good reason for why the MC was able to escape as a kid.

I've now gotten around to most of this season's shows.
Saiki Kusou was awful. One of the worst attempts at deadpan humour I've ever seen.
Naria Girls can barely even be called anime and I don't know why that and the shitty flash shows from the last several seasons are even being put in the charts.
Handa-kun's first episode was horrible with the amount of time wasted on the retarded original scenes and the adapted part having poor comedic timing.
KonoBi makes me think of Nozaki-kun, but less funny and more cutesy. I still like it though, one of the better shows this season.
Planetarian's adaptation is killing me with the original scenes, particularly the gunfight at the start and now in episode 2 the pair sitting out in the rain to talk and the Junker without even wearing any protective gear. The shit is corrosive, for fuck's sake.
Mob Psycho 100 had great animation but I didn't find anything else about it interesting at all.
>>15937>>15938I like Hime but everyone else aside from Yellow is an asshole.

I kinda forgot about this site for awhile, but I'm watching something like 30 shows or so including some that carried over from Spring.

>>17067Endride: Shun, a normal Japanese boy, ends up in the fantasy world inside our hollow planet. There he meets Emilio, the prince of Endora (the underworld), that wants to kill the current king (his uncle) after learning that he has killed the previous king (Emilio's father). He was the "villain" only for the first cour. It starts as a very generic fantasy that doesn't seem to have much potential, but it it actually gets around exploring some nice and unique for anime ideas. It turned out to have a lot more charm than seemed initially. Still the writing was not really that good. It would have been better if it is was at least 26 episodes and a little more compact with some of the story's aspects so we can explore others better.
(this picture is of Time Travel Shoujo, the previous one was from Endride.
No.17069
>>17068The villain: Everything is a spoiler!
The real villain was Shun's human father. He is a scientist that finds about Endora and how to travel to it. His first born dies meanwhile. He complete cheats the king (Emillio's father) and ends up killing him. He steals Shun from Emilio's uncle (which means that they are cousins). Manipulates his wife into raising Shun. And to end it all he makes a link between the top and Endora through which he starts sucking up Endora's resource of light and power, which brings Endora to the bring of extension. He is complete psychopath. Later he doesn't even mind starting to shoot at Emilio and Shun without a warning and of course doesn't mind killing everyone in Endora. Everything he says or does is stone cold. The ending:
I am still not sure how to feel about that one, but in the end episode he basically gets Dr. Octupus-like powers so he can fight the main two at the top of Endora's mythical tower. Emilio ends up killing him. Shun was of course sad about it, but didn't blame Emilio at all. As the tower got destroyed the dead body of Shun's father fell from the clouds into the sea. No.17082
Very little activity. I guess it is normal with not much of the season being left. Mob Psycho 100 ended now. I think it went too far with some things, but it is overall okay. I would say it is a different experience from the manga, so I can't say it is a good adaptation, but it is a descent anime anyway.
